Julie is an experienced complementary health practitioner, having practised and taught full time in this field in London for 30 years. She is a registered member of the Craniosacral Therapy Association and is also a registered Supervisor.
Her specialist skills together give a strong foundation for working with clients of all ages, and with a range of conditions from the physical and structural to the psychological and emotional.
Julie’s own personal explorations and trainings over the years, in particular in Traditional Chinese medicine, Yoga, Psychotherapy, Prenatal and Birth Psychology and Trauma skills, have all helped define her approach to bodywork. Her aim is to facilitate a client’s ability to reconnect with a deep sense of their own well-being, at the level of mind and body, as well as addressing their symptoms. She is particularly interested in helping clients to gain insight into their own state and patterns of tension. Thus the sessions can, as well as healing experiences, become aids to self development.
Julie is also able to offer recommendations on areas such as nutrition, posture, exercise and acupressure points for home use, to enable the client to support their own health and vitality outside of sessions.
Julie combines a finely sensitive touch with a clear theoretical understanding of her therapies, giving depth and effectiveness to her work with clients.
Her clients have reported a high rate of success with specific ailments.
Julie is part of both the Well Woman and the Mum and Baby Clinics at the C.H.A.I.M., which specialise in Pregnancy and Post Natal Treatments as well as treatments for babies and children.
Julie offers free 15 minute consultations for people who want to discuss in person, or find out more about the therapies she offers and how they may be of benefit.

What Clients Say:
“Recurrent pain in my abdomen during sexual intercourse led me to try Craniosacral Therapy. The pain seemed linked to polycystic ovaries and emotional trauma following an indecent assault. After two sessions of Craniosacral Therapy with Julie, all the pain went and has not recurred; that was nearly a year ago! In Julie’s hands, I felt completely safe to release emotions and let go of the pain. A powerful experience!”

“Having a Shiatsu treatment for me has always been a special treat in the past. Seeing Julie McBride at The C.H.A.I.M. Centre for a treatment was a lot more than just a special treat. I felt totally rejuvenated and at ease with myself after the treatment. Apart from all the potential benefits to the system, it felt deeply relaxing – something worthwhile taking up regularly with Julie in our increasingly stressful lives.”

“I was involved in a car accident eight weeks ago and suffered a head injury, since the accident I have had headaches everyday plus a lot of neck and back pain. I was given anti-inflammatories by the doctor but they did not work. I was told about the C.H.A.I.M. Centre in Willesden Green and a therapist called Julie McBride who specialises in Craniosacral Therapy. I had never heard of this treatment but was in so much pain that I thought I would give it a go. After the first session, I left floating on air. For the week after that session I had only one slight headache and my neck pain had subsided. I also felt more awake and alive than I had done for a long time. After the second treatment, my headaches had completely disappeared and I was feeling back to my normal self. I would definitely recommend this gentle and powerful therapy to everyone as it can help with such a range of conditions.”

“I have been diagnosed with early stage Parkinson’s disease. Despite medication which relieved the disabling tremor, I was still in a lot of discomfort from pressure and tightness in the head, shoulders and back. A friend recommended trying Craniosacral Therapy with Julie McBride. I am aware that Parkinson’s disease is not curable, but whilst receiving this form of therapy, my discomfort has been reduced and is now considerably more controlled. I highly recommend this treatment and have great confidence in Julie as a practitioner.”

“When I was approximately 2-3 months pregnant with our first child, I began to suffer from terrible headaches. After several weeks of trying to deal with the pain, I decided to try Craniosacral Therapy, with Julie McBride, at The C.H.A.I.M. Centre. After just 2 sessions of this therapy, the headaches were virtually gone. When I fell pregnant with my second child, the headaches started again. This time I decided to see Julie straight away and was so relieved that again, after just a couple of sessions, I didn’t have headaches any more.”
– Female, aged 35
“I recently completed a series of Craniosacral Therapy sessions with Julie McBride to help me recover from the affects of an emergency caesarean operation. Since the caesarean , I had been experiencing pain, exhaustion , depression and problems bonding with my new baby. The series of four sessions has had the affect of clearing the shock of the operation and has left me feeling re-energised, full of vitality and able to enjoy my relationship with my new baby. A wonderful feeling which conventional medicine could only ever dream of matching.”

“I had regular Shiatsu with Julie McBride twice a month during both my pregnancies. Receiving this therapy has given me enormous confidence in my body and mind, as well as ameliorating many of the symptoms associated with pregnancy, and has also helped me to feel connected to my baby from very early on. When, during my first pregnancy, a routine scan showed a cyst in my son’s brain, we had to decide whether to go ahead with amniocentesis to see if he was suffering from a very rare genetic disorder. Shiatsu really helped me to stay calm during this worrying time, and to listen to my body and instincts which told me that he was fine. When it came to my labour, the trust and connectedness to my body which the Shiatsu sessions had really helped me to develop, enabled me to give birth to both my children without drugs or medical intervention. I believe that it is largely due to Shiatsu that I was able to experience giving birth as such a powerful and positive experience.”

“During the last trimester of my pregnancy I developed carpal tunnel syndrome in my left hand. I have not experienced pain like it – it affected my thumb and first two fingers and was very debilitating at times. It hindered my ability to do minor tasks with my fingers and also kept me awake at night. Despite the use of a splint, regular pain killers, elevation of the arm, and regular exercises nothing seemed to help. The pain regularly reduced me to tears and I thought I would not be able to cope with it for the remainder of my pregnancy. My husband suggested I try some Craniosacral Therapy. He had recently received some treatment at The C.H.A.I.M. Centre with Julie McBride for some sports injuries in his elbow and knee and was amazed at how successful it had been. After two sessions of treatment the relief from the pain was incredible. I no longer needed to wear the splint and very rarely needed to take pain killers. I was able to use my fingers freely without pain. Friends said I looked better as the worry and stress from the pain had gone from my face. It has been two weeks since I have received any treatment and still I am pretty much pain free. It has been a miracle and has made the last few weeks of my pregnancy so much more bearable. I would definitely recommend such treatment to anyone else who suffers this syndrome in pregnancy.”
