Chinese Herbal Medicine

[Conditions it may help?] [When is it available?] [Fees & Consultation]

Traditional Chinese Medicine regards the symptom as part of a pattern of disharmony. Once an underlying pattern has been determined, a combination of herbs is used to rebalance the body. Herbs are classified according to taste: sweet, sour, bitter, pungent and salty. Each herb works in specific organs and related meridians. The cause of the illness is treated, as well as the symptoms.

Medicinal herbs have been used in China for thousands of years. Herbs come in many categories; from those that expel colds and flu to those that nourish the body’s vital substances. Remedies are usually taken as herbal teas, but herbs may be prescribed as pills, powders, pastes, creams and lotions.
